A beautiful song written by Phượng Hoàng band guitarist Lê Hựu Hà, and sung impeccably by Elvis Phương during his time with this amazing band. Pictues of both withinthe video. Lyrics and English translation in my notes. The Phượng Hoàng (Phoenix) were re-formed on June 15, 1971 in the Pink Night tea room with Lê Hựu Hà (guitar), Nguyễn Trung Cang (organ, bass), Nguyen Trung Vinh (drum), Nhu Khiem (bass), and Elvis Phuong vocals. They wrote their own songs, and were trailblazers in Vietnamese Rock, specializing in harmony technique, and much more. They played at Saigon venues such as Pink Night, Queen Bee and Maxim’s.

Love You – Elvis Phuong
Love you because I hate sadness
Love you because I hate you
Love you because I despise lies.
Love you because I’m bored
Love you because I’m bored
Love you because I don’t believe in heaven.
I don’t crave the dark hair
I don’t crave beautiful eyes
I don’t mind the compliment of the world.
I don’t need anyone to understand me
When we praise love
When I help you go in the mind.
Honey, I want to say that
Why are you so indifferent?
When you wholeheartedly love me dearly.
