So I just found this video and I'm thinking to myself "I already tried doing this, did I do something wrong in the process?" While I was going to school at the Art Institute of San Diego, I went to the local IGDA meet ups and joined in on the Game Jams. Yet, I still haven't been able to further myself into actually getting an internship in the industry. Doesn't help that my school closed in the middle of all of this last year leaving me without any help from the school with finding any work.

The only thing I can figure is the people I was talking to I wasn't keeping constant communication with outside of the meetings. There was no one I truly made friends with, other than those at my school who were in the same situation as me. It felt more like I found people that I got to know and not much more. I also was told to go into QA and work my way up from there but I haven't even been able to secure a position in QA.

I don't know if you're still looking at the comments but if you happen to see this one, any insight would be appreciated. Though I'm not sure how much I'll be able to do at this time due to the current world pandemic (as of the writing of this comment), I'll take whatever advice you can give!

Hi there everybody. Sorry for my sucking english but i don't master it yet ahahah
I was wondering: how a degree matter in terms of skills/studies in game development? I ask this because here in Italy is a huge problem. You don't get a degree? you don't work. You have a degree? don't get a job either. I hope that game development is a different world…
